Jemez Valley High Celebrates 6 Months of Success with Wellness Room

Have you ever needed a moment to regulate your stress and had nowhere to go to calm down?

Jemez Valley High School has marked early success with their Wellness Room, a curated space that provides their 350 students with a dedicated space to regulate stress, regroup, and manage their mental health during the school day.

The space is supported by Braintree and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of New Mexico. It’s a free, school-based mental health support for the students at the high school that’s helped them feel calmer and more focused during the school day.

The Wellness Rooms feature calming spaces, regulation tools, coping resources like easy-to-use cards that guide breathing techniques, and creative activities such as coloring or clay.

While Jemez Valley High doesn’t have a school-based health center on campus, we’re excited to see vital resources available to support students’ mental health.
