This month is all about LOVE! Both SBHC Awareness Month and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month fall in February, and NMASBHC encourages every SBHC, partner and supporter to take a moment to recognize and share with colleagues information about both. If you love the ideas of school-based health and healthy teen relationships, take a few moments to do some work to make them happen this month.
Firstly, please see our first article below to learn a bit about how you can engage in legislative advocacy to support funding expansion for SBHCs in honor of SBHC Awareness Month!
Secondly, visit www.loveisrespect.org to find resources on building awareness about health teen relationships. The resources there are ones clinicians, parents and youth can utilize to educate about the type of relationships we hope all people can have, particularly youth who are learning to build their first relationships.
And lastly, please read on for many training, job and other learning opportunities in February. We hope some of these resources are ones you’ll love this month.
With best wishes for a successful legislative session and Happy Valentine’s Day,
Nancy Rodriguez
